One Day

After more than ten years from its release, I succeeded in watching this movie, strafed by critics and half world audiences. It's not a masterpiece, but leaves its traces here and there. Awesome soundtrack by Rachel Portman, as always.

"Exercise of style" is often a pretty abused expression to indicate a movie (or else) that is a sort of showoff of the director: in this case, unfortunately, it's totally appropriate. It's not a failure (Silvio Orlando's performance is monumental and the visual aspect is awesome), but Sorrentino's approach, in my opinion, has undertaken an insubstantial direction. Mark: 6.5 / 10
