From the director of the magnificent "Central do Brasil", a moving and chilling portrait of Brazil's military dictatorship seen through the eyes of Eunice Paiva, the wife of a disappeared (and then murdered) former politician, at the beginning of the seventies. Fernanda Torres is simply marvelous, and the last scene is incredibly touching for the presence of Torres' real life mother, Fernanda Montenegro (leading actress of "Central do Brasil"), playing Eunice Paiva in her latest years.

Pretentious. Overly theatrical. Unfocused. I'm not a fan of this (inexplicably praised) extremely long story about this (invented) Hungarian architect seeking for inner and professional recognition. And, frankly, both Brody and Jones have delivered better performances. Mark: 5.5 / 10
