The Post

Streep and Hanks directed by Spielberg: not to be missed at all costs. But I waited for eight years, with no explanation whatsoever. Anyway, it's a great movie wothout a doubt. And it's really not to be missed. Mark: 8 / 10

The Thursday Murder Club

Helen Mirren, Ben Kingsley, Pierce Brosnan, Celia Imrie, Jonathan Pryce, Richard E. Grant and David Tennant: an incredible cast for a pretty entertaining crime comedy, adapted from the novel by Richard Osman. Mark: 6.5 / 10

Ainda Estou Aqui

From the director of the magnificent "Central do Brasil", a moving and chilling portrait of Brazil's military dictatorship seen through the eyes of Eunice Paiva, the wife of a disappeared (and then murdered) former politician, at the beginning of the seventies. Fernanda Torres is simply marvelous, and the last scene is incredibly touching for the presence of Torres' real life mother, Fernanda Montenegro (leading actress of "Central do Brasil"), playing Eunice Paiva in her latest years. Mark: 8 / 10

Follemente

From the talented author of the brilliant "Perfetti sconosciuti", an enjoyable and amusing comedy supported by a great cast. The director claimed that he thought about the idea and subject of the movie way before Disney Pixar's "Inside Out". Mark: 7.5 / 10

Nosferatu (2024)

A good cast, a decent technical depiction, some interesting philological hints, but zero pace, zero rhythm, zero energy, zero empathy. Sorry to say that, but I found this adaption completely useless. Mark: 5 / 10

Aichaku (愛着)

A sort of Japanese version of the outstanding British movie "Weekend", this delicate portrayal of integration and gay love constantly misses the (many) points, resulting way too superficial to be appreciated. Mark: 5 / 10
