That's the kind of superhero movie that leaves me quite puzzled: plot, subplot, cross-references, quotations and quiddities. The cast is good and the visual effects are no less than great, but in my humble opinion the result is somewhat cold.

"Exercise of style" is often a pretty abused expression to indicate a movie (or else) that is a sort of showoff of the director: in this case, unfortunately, it's totally appropriate. It's not a failure (Silvio Orlando's performance is monumental and the visual aspect is awesome), but Sorrentino's approach, in my opinion, has undertaken an insubstantial direction. Mark: 6.5 / 10
