Take the first chapter, shake the original subject and plot just a little bit, add some bigger and louder scenes, and you obtain this rather disappointing sequel. The main issue? The fact that you don't really care about the fate of every single character.

"Exercise of style" is often a pretty abused expression to indicate a movie (or else) that is a sort of showoff of the director: in this case, unfortunately, it's totally appropriate. It's not a failure (Silvio Orlando's performance is monumental and the visual aspect is awesome), but Sorrentino's approach, in my opinion, has undertaken an insubstantial direction. Mark: 6.5 / 10
