Pride

Eighties, Margaret Thatcher, miners, riots, GLBT outsets, homophobia, friendship, SOLIDARITY: a very enjoyable movie with all this. Based on a true story. Mark: 7.5 / 10

Gone Girl

A very promising intro, a nice development, and a somewhat disappointing last part. But probably we've got to blame the book's author. Mark: 6.5 / 10

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2

Nothing particular to add to what already said for Part 1. The great fortune of this movie saga was definitely acting. Without that, oh boy... Mark: 6 / 10

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1

Frayed and somewhat boring, it's counterbalanced by the usual pleasant acting and the presence of the great Julianne Moore. Mark: 6 / 10

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire

Nice sequel and adaptation, though in the end it turns out to become a bit repetitive. Acting and rhythm still enjoyable. Mark: 6.5 / 10

Minions

An endless bunch of nothing. Definitely not suitable for people over 4 years old. A complete disappointment. Mark: 3 / 10

Inside Out

Wittily entertaining, moving and extremely enjoyable. Not at the same level of the Pixar masterpieces (Wall-E, Finding Nemo, Up and Toy Story 3), but way better than the latest, almost unwatchable, products. Mark: 8 / 10

Big Hero 6

A visually magnificent path-to-adulthood fanta-tale, dressed with irony and enjoyable rhythm. An almost deserved Academy Award. Almost. Mark: 7 / 10

The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies

After the first twenty enjoyable minutes, the movie begins its incredibly tedious and somewhat annoying path toward the end of this (useless, now I can say it) trilogy. Totally disappointing. Mark: 4 / 10

Guardians of the Galaxy

At last I succeeded in watching this incredible success at the box-office: wisely acted, cleverly written and definitely enjoyable! Well done! Mark: 8 / 10

Jurassic World

In one word: entertaining. Don't ask too much, forget about minor or major flaws here and there and enjoy the show. That is indeed a jurassic one. Mark: 7 / 10

X-Men: Days of Future Past

More than acceptable sequel (spin-off? stand-alone episode?) of the famous Marvel saga, well acted and decently scripted. Not a masterpiece, though. Mark: 6.5 / 10

Allacciate le cinture

Ferzan Ozpetek's latest work faces terrible diseases, true love, multicultural Italy, passion and integration. Nothing new in his filmography, then. But the lightness and warmth he develops the story with are as usual a firm trademark. And I frankly didn't understand the reason why this movie was so underappreciated by almost everyone. Mark: 7.5 / 10

My beloved T

Two and a half years have passed. But I still miss you so much, my beloved T. So. Much.

Still Alice

Better and more delicate than many movies based on terrible cognitive diseases, this movie is simply... Julianne Moore. This incredibly talented actress is breathtaking in her mannerless, intimate, intense and exquisite portrayal of our Alice. And hopefully she'll soon get a HUGELY overdue Academy Award. Mark: 7 / 10

The Lego Movie

Meh. I was expecting a thoroughly enjoyable movie, full of stunts and wits: what I found is a boring variation of the usual cartoon peppered with countless quotes. Definitely missable. Mark: 5.5 / 10

Into the Woods

From the highly acclaimed (I wonder why...) Broadway musical, the long awaited theatrical version of the revisited and mixed Disney tales, all together in a bombastic adaptation, is nothing more than a quite boring patchwork of scenes. Missable. Mark: 6 / 10

The Grand Budapest Hotel

Technically and actingly superb, this enjoyable divertissement unfortunately gives an overall slight impression of stretched-to-excess funny experiment. Mark: 7.75 / 10

How to Train Your Dragon 2

Frankly I mildly disagree with all the people saying this is better than the first chapter, but it remains a great animated work of art and deserves all the praises it got. Highly recommended. Mark: 8 / 10
