Juror #2

An understated, unconventional legal thriller, masterfully written by Jonathan Abrams and expertly directed by the incredible Clint Eastwood. Toni Collette and Nicholas Hoult are simply superb. Mark: 8 / 10

Elio

An enjoyable Disney/Pixar product, with some cute ideas and some predictable development twists. Neither a masterpiece, nor a failure. Mark: 6.5 / 10

Lion

Based on Saroo Brierley's book, it's an uplifting real-life story, wonderfully acted and brilliantly directed by Garth Davis. Though a bit weak in the central part, it's definitely a movie worth watching. Mark: 7.5 / 10

La habitación de al lado

In my opinion, aseptic is the right word to describe this movie: I felt no empathy, no participation, no real sense of grief and loss. And, frankly, I didn't even appreciate the performances of the two main actresses. What a pity. Mark: 5.5 / 10

Babygirl

Without a doubt, one of the most divisive movies of last season. Personally, I liked it a lot: very good performances (Nicole is awesome), pretty intriguing story, and an appropriate, pleasant soundtrack. Get ready to love or hate it. Mark: 8 / 10

The Post

Streep and Hanks directed by Spielberg: not to be missed at all costs. But I waited for eight years, with no explanation whatsoever. Anyway, it's a great movie wothout a doubt. And it's really not to be missed. Mark: 8 / 10

The Thursday Murder Club

Helen Mirren, Ben Kingsley, Pierce Brosnan, Celia Imrie, Jonathan Pryce, Richard E. Grant and David Tennant: an incredible cast for a pretty entertaining crime comedy, adapted from the novel by Richard Osman. Mark: 6.5 / 10
